No news yet - this is just a re-post for anyone that might’ve missed it last night.
So full details & video to follow…but our little buddy was arrested in Tompkins Square Park … shortly following a protest demonstration/ political rally / concert that we had on the same block as the 9th Precinct.
If any of you are around tomorrow - he might need your support. At 100 center st. NY, NY there will be a hearing or arraigntment (i’m not sure about the details about what exactly these are) and it helps to get supporters there. We will post all the information tomorrow morning…and if you are in the area - PLEASE show up to support our favorite Sock Monkey Loving/Obsessed C-Squatter. I’m told it will be around 3 , 4 , or 5 pm.
Star fucking hipsters are/were scheduled to play at HOWL fest at the same time -but this is obviously a much more important issue. He could use your help tomorrow.

I just spoke to the lawyer representing him & Scott Sturgeon’s hearing/arraignment will be at the Criminal Court Building at 100 Centre St. The hearing can be anywhere as early as 4pm to 6pm-ish. We just have to sit and wait.
The support would help him out a lot - so we have been asked to ask you : if you are in the area and aren’t up to anything on this rainy day…come help out & support the Stz. Extra bodies in there always make things look better.
Also : star fucking hipsters had a scheduled slot at the HOWL fest today – however we are all obviously going to go support our boy at the court. Too bad they happen at the same time. I hope that some of you can join us.

2008 arrest
On September 6, 2008, Sturgeon was arrested after harassing a group of police officers by throwing an entire box of donuts at them—while a crowd chanted « Free fuckin’ speech! »—and subsequently pointing his guitar at them as if it were a gun, while yelling « This machine kills cops! ». The arrest followed a performance of a few of Choking Victim’s and Leftöver Crack’s most anti-police songs, performed in front of the police. Immediately after his arrest, fans proceeded to verbally harass police officers and pound on their vehicles demanding his release while screaming « Freedom of speech is dead! You killed it! » among other sentiments. Some angry fans, not relenting, were tasered and beaten by some police, though most of the police ignored the protestors who appeared to be baiting them into confrontation. The entire incident was filmed and posted on YouTube.
